Bruno

It is with great sadness we share the passing of Bruno (previously Nitro), an HVR alumni.

Bruno had an incredibly tough start to life, as he was one of the siblings rescued from a drain pipe in 2021. These pups were understandably timid at first, and took some time to warm up to their people - but they were so incredibly special, and once they bonded they loved their people to pieces.

Bruno was no exception, and he brought his family so much joy in his time with them. His family gave him the best life, a far cry from where he started  heart

Though his time was cut short by illness, his family fought so hard for him, and gave him the absolute best life. Our heart are with his family as they grieve the loss of such an amazing companion.

Rest in Peace sweet Bruno  heart

Chance

It is with a heavy heart we share the passing of Chance, an HVR alumni.  broken heart

Chance came in to rescue with a myriad of health issues, at the forefront his advanced kidney disease. He had suffered a great loss in 2021 with the sudden loss of his dad, who he loved dearly - and his foster mom suffered the sudden loss of her own dog shortly after Chance came into rescue. These two came to love each other dearly as they both worked through their grief - and eventually foster mom realized Chance was already where he belonged.

Chance lived a beautifully spoiled and pampered life in the time he had with his mom - complete with road trips, many adorable outfits, pet stairs in every room, pets whenever he demanded, and the best medical care.

Chance was treated to a cheeseburger on his last day - and in true prince Chancey style, he made his mom remove the cheese and bread before gobbling it up (lol). His Mom was by his side in his final moments, with gentle words and tender kisses, to help him pass peacefully.

Rest in Peace sweet Chancey boy  heart

Lilly

Today (08/16/22) our sweet Lilly crossed peacefully over the rainbow bridge with her amazing foster mama by her side.

13 yr old Lilly spent 7 months in her loving foster home after her owner surrendered her. We soon came to find out she had cancer and she would be a hospice foster. Lilly's foster mom was dedicated to making however long she had left the best days of her life. We can confidently say she succeeded! Lillypad (as her foster mama called her) lived as a spoiled princess these last 7 months. For those that got to meet her, we think you would agree, she sure didn't act like a 13 year old riddled with cancer. Amazing what love can do heart

Lilly let us know it was time and we were able to help her pass in her favorite spot on "her" couch, after she enjoyed hamburgers and french fries and so many tender kisses from her mama.

Please keep Lilly's foster mom in your thoughts. As you can imagine, this was a very difficult loss for her.

Thank you to all who donated to Lilly's cause. She was definitely a very special and resilient girl.  heart

Biggie

It is with great sadness that we share that our sweet senior boy Biggie crossed over the rainbow bridge broken heart

Biggie came to us with a long list of medical issues. During his month with us, he received extensive veterinary care and an overwhelming amount of love from his amazing foster mom.

We'd like to thank our caring and attentive vet team, his amazing foster home, and our faithful community for being a part of Biggie's journey. His final time on this earth was filled with affection, treats, and the best naps, knowing he was finally safe and loved.

Rest easy sweet Biggie, aka Biggie smalls heart

Benny

It is with a heavy heart we share that Benny (previously Jude) has crossed over the rainbow bridge.

Benny was adopted in May 2020 and landed with the absolute best family he could have asked for. Though he faced several health challenges, his family fought hard for him and settled for nothing less than the best for this sweet boy.

Unfortunately Benny lost his battle after surgery complications this week, and his family had to say a very tough goodbye. They loved him fiercely and fought so hard for him, giving this boy the best chance. His Mom called him her “light in the dark” after suffering the loss of her dear pup Riley prior.

Thank you to your wonderful family for being everything you needed and more, giving you the best life and showing you the love you truly deserved. Rest easy sweet Benny heart
