Mandy is a 2-year-old labradoodle who has had a rough start with a lot of transition in her short life. She’s a timid girl who is still learning that the world isn’t as scary as it seems. While she’s hesitant about most things, there’s one big exception—her foster neighbor’s cat, Ringo. Mandy absolutely adores him and will nuzzle up every chance she gets!
Though nervous around people and sudden movements, Mandy is not destructive and already knows several commands. She prefers affection on her own terms and needs a calm, patient person to help her feel safe. Loud noises and quick gestures spook her, but in her short time in foster care, she’s already started to come out of her shell and seek affection more and more. She is housebroken and crate trained and sometimes seeks solace in her crate on her own.
Mandy doesn’t yet engage in play with other dogs, but she doesn’t mind being around them. She’s still figuring out what toys are and will likely warm up to them as she gains confidence. Leash walks are a work in progress—she doesn’t pull or lunge, but she’s very unsure and often freezes or backs up. She’ll need a gentle hand and lots of reassurance as she continues to learn.
With time, trust, and love, Mandy will blossom into the devoted companion she’s meant to be. She’d thrive in a quiet home with older children, calm adults, and maybe even a feline friend or gentle dog sibling to show her the ropes.
If you believe in love at a shy glance and have a peaceful space to offer, Mandy might just be the perfect match for you. Her adoption donation is $210 and includes age appropriate vaccines, microchip and spay.
