We were worried about Ellie Mae because she truly had a when her family dropped her off. She lunged at their car whimpering as they pulled away and pulled the leash long after they left stretching her neck looking for them to come back. She totally withdrew and did not want human interaction.

But there's an amazing happy ending. Her foster humans and foster fur sibling did an amazing job of socializing her and helping to heal her broken heart. She has made huge strides and reminded us of resilience. Today she met her forever family and it was simply the most perfect match. She and 13 yr old new fur brother Hadley hit it off immediately. Just look at the four huge smiles in this picture. We couldn't be happier for Ellie Mae's next chapter. Happily ever after sweet girl!
